Simple principle with a great effect:the new, fully automatic, mobile firewood palletising machine

Wood as an energy source is becoming increasingly important as an environmentally friendly and, above all, inexpensive alternative to oil, gas and coal.In energy-saving residential buildings – low-energy houses – the tiled stove is still a welcome source of heat because of its cosiness. Now, though, this does not only fulfil the function of an individual stove.

With the wide range of machines and equipment it is possible to adapt very well to the many different equipment and furnishing requirements and the required heat supply of rooms. The tiled stove is back in fashion. For these reasons alone the demand for firewood is growing continually. This is basically no problem – wood grows back again and is always available. This kind of fuel is also excellent for storing.

DIY stores and dealers have mainly been selling imported firewood on pallets for some time now.The reason is that wood as a bulk material – in the logistics process – cannot be handled sensibly.Wood stacked on pallets (usually in cubic metres) is also in demand with consumers because it is easy to transport and store.

Without our new, fully automatic firewood palletising machine, labour-intensive and costly steps were required to fill a pallet manually. This is why local firewood suppliers were at a clear disadvantage compared with low-wage countries.Even transport routes over hundreds of kilometres carried no weight in terms of price.

Our new technology will completely revolutionise the firewood market and ensure perfect value-creation potential for forest owners and wood sellers. The high-performance, mobile, fully automatic firewood palletising machine is operated by only one person! The pallet leaves the machine ready for dispatch.

Added value and safety are the key features. This applies both for professional and also for semi-professional users. The new palletising machine ensures that the added value remains in the region in question. At the same time, however, the customer also has the security that firewood is available at all times and all demand can be met.

  • PREVIOUS POSSIBILITIES:cutting and splitting;

The tree trunks delivered in the usual trunk length are transported to the conical draw-in rollers using a cross conveyor.(This module will be included in delivery if requested.)The conveyor belt of the cutting and splitting machine takes the trunk. The tree trunk which is going to be processed is taken to the machine where a sawing fixture cuts a 33cm long block from the trunk. The cut block is split with a splitting blade to create pieces of firewood. The split logs leave the cutting and splitting machine in various thicknesses, mainly in the axial direction.

The previously known solutions ended with this step.

The wood then had to be stacked manually.

NEW MODULES:FULLY AUTOMATIC SPLIT WOOD TRANSPORTATION AND PALLETISATION

CHAMBER DIVISION

  • The split logs are taken by the vibrating conveyors of the mobile, fully automatic firewood palletising machine and from here are sent to the logs dividing belt.
  • The logs dividing belt has the task of aligning the wood. The wood is prepared for the feeding unit of the pallet filling machine.

PREPARATION FOR STACKING

  • The height-independent feeding unit with raised sides ensures trouble-free operation.
  • With a cross conveyor each individual wood line is pushed onto the retractable working platform along the length of the pieces of wood. The pallet filling process begins.

PALLET COMPRESSION

  • A vibrator ensures ideal compression of the wood on the pallet.
  • The vibration sequences can be adjusted to the particular type and condition of the wood by a control unit.
  • Protective vibrating plates stabilise the line of split logs on the head side during the compression

READY PALLET

  • The pallet is tied down using strapping tape and leaves the filling station.
  • During the filling process and up to completion after the filling station, the pallet, which is still open at the top, is stabilised by the pallet clamp.

The fully automatic machine saves on costs, works cleanly and efficiently, and also takes up very little space!(Length: 10.20m; width: 4.54m)

Simple principle with a great effect – your innovation – the new, fully automatic, mobile firewood palletising machine from W&S holztech GmbH

W & S holztech GmbH offers you 3 models

The fully automatic mobile palletising machine

The wood can be transferred directly either by a dry rotary drum, a bunker with an integrated conveyor floor, a cutting and splitting machine, or by a quantity-controlled conveyor belt. The basic model is designed for 33cm long split logs.Other split log lengths are also possible on request. The pallet fill quantity can be adjusted according to individual requirements.

The box stacking and box palletising machine

Are you interested in the possibility of fully automatic box stacking?Do you also want to serve this increasingly interesting market segment? With our patented procedure we can provide you with a solution in this area too!

The sack filling and sack palletising machine

The wood is filled stacked into suitable sacks. As an option we also provide palletising according to the customer’s particular requirements. This variant can also be added to every preliminary processing stage.

Processing firewood and the stacked filling of pallets have been done only manually so far – which is reflected in increased labour costs and therefore lowers revenue. As a result, these activities are carried out almost solely in low-wage countries.

Automating the processing steps considerably increases productivity and, furthermore, simplifies the logistics process for putting firewood on pallets. The practical storage of firewood on pallets is also an advantage which customers could not imagine doing without today.

Market development in the firewood sector

For some time we have noticed continually rising demand for wood fuel.Around 25% of this is processed into pieces of firewood and sold.According to a statistic of the German Forestry Council, in Germany alone there are around 10 million wood-burning stoves, open fireplaces and wood burners – and the trend is rising. The demand for firewood is rising continuously!

The logical addition

With the addition of the fully automatic mobile firewood palletising machine, it has become possible for the first time to automate the entire processing procedure for firewood.

PALLET STACKING

The palletising machine can be added directly after a choice of either a dry rotary drum, a bunker with an integrated conveyor floor, a cutting and splitting machine, or after a quantity-controlled conveyor belt. The basic model is designed for 33cm long split logs.Other split log lengths are also possible on request. The pallet fill quantity can also be adjusted according to individual requirements.
